Many famous players have been honored with Signature model Martin guitars, typically designed to the artist's playing stlye, wood, tone, and action preferences, and of course their beautiful appearance.
Eric Clapton leads the pack with no less than six signature models. Stephen Stills and Roger McGuinn are among those with three. David Crosby (2), and Graham Nash (1) have signature models, but to date, no Neil Young model, although he's been pounding on those Dreadnaught Martins for decades.
Also, no Lennon or McCartney models, even though some of the most notable and inspiring songs ever written were created by them on Martin Guitars.
Sting has two, and Willie has one, naturally a nylon string classical model, (but without the road warrior hole in the top. Only 100 were made.)
There have been over 125 signature models over the years, some of which are out of production, so you might have to go hunting to find that special one you may be looking for.
